Flare Token Airdrop / Update
Over 2 years ago, Flare Networks took a snapshot of the XRP ledger to capture all XRP holder's addresses and balances to distribute their new tokens by way of an airdrop. Originally called the Spark token, but now rebranded to Flare Token, the coin will be distributed for the next 3 years. The first 15% of allocated tokens will be released on the 9th of January (23:59 UTC). The remaining 85% of tokens will be distributed at various points over the next 3 years.
Those who actively took take in the snapshot have had a long wait. The original distribution was planned for Q1/Q2 of 2020!
The good news is that many exchanges have finally announced their confirmation that they'll be participating including Binance, the world's largest Crypto exchange. For a complete list, take a look over at Flare's official list: https://flare.network/tde-exchange-support/
Flare has announced they'll be live-streaming the event too.
Most exchanges won't require holders to claim or interact to receive their coins. They will land in your account automatically, however, don't expect exchanges to drop your coins into your wallet immediately. It's possible this could take some time to complete.
