DogeCoin (DOGE)

Dogecoin was created in late December 2013 after forking the Litecoin (indirectly Bitcoin) source code initially as a joke/meme. As you can tell, it features the face of the Shiba Inu dog from the original "doge" meme but it quickly established a cult-like community, reaching a huge market capitalization. It's since established itself as a more semi-serious project and is still under active development. One of the original co-founders left the project back in 2015
