Optimism (OP)

Optimism's vision is to have a Superchain, a sprawling network which could maximize interoperability across blockchains - working together cross-chain. At its heart, it is a layer 2 scaling solution for the Ethereum blockchain by using optimistic rollups to process transactions in batches and therefore reducing gas fees.

A recent announcement from Coinbase launching their own Layer 2 (Base) saw OP increase in value by over 20% - this is because Base is built on Optimism.
