Who is Jed McCaleb

Jed McCaleb is an American programmer, entrepreneur and philanthropist. He is a technology entrepreneur well known for founding XRP Ripple, eDonkey and his involvement in Mt.Gox when he created a Magic: The Gathering cards trading platform later turned Bitcoin exchange.

After leaving Ripple in 2013/14 over reported disagreements with fellow founders, it appears that he received a package of over 9 million XRP which he has been selling consistently for over 8 years. So much interest in the amount of XRP Jed held and sold that a website was created specifically to track his Jed Balance. Known as the Taco-stand wallet. XRP holders are now sitting much more comfortably now that Jed finished his sell-off on the 18th of July 2022 thus removing a large sell pressure on the asset.

Jed went on to form another crypto project called Stellar (XLM) where he is currently the CTO. McCaleb created Stellar as a non-profit organization and has been a philanthropist, donating to many research and AI projects.
